Two treatments with the commerical formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis (500 gm/ha) were found to be the most effective in reduction of stem borer population density compared to chemical insecticide treatments. Among the chemical insecticide treatment, the application of 10% diazinone granules was found effective, in reducing the population density of this pest. Further remarkable results were obtained when corn plants were sprayed with a mixture of B. thuringiensis and diazinone 60% EC. In general, all chemical and biological treatments were found to reduce the population density of corn stem borer significantly compared with untreated plots
