Samples of bread wheat seeds CV. Inia-66 stored under Baghdad prevailing room conditions for 0,5 and 10 years were irradiated with 5,10 and 15 krads of gamma rays emitted from Co-60 source. Germination percentages, plant height, spike length, number of kernels per spike and weight of 1000 kernel of M1 plants were statistically significant. The greatest number of variants were found in M2 plants that had originated from seeds stored for 10 years and irradiated with 15 krads of gamma rays. The variants ZB 103 and ZC 115 were selected as semidwarf in M2 generation. These mutants showed genetic stability in both M3 and M4 generations along with amber coloured seeds
