The effect of Gliricidia herbage mulch on growth and yield of peanut on hillside farm was evaluated. Peanut mulched with Gliricidia herbage showed significantly higher yield, longer pods and more number of seeds per pod than the control. No significant differences were obtained between treatments in terms of plant height, herbage weight, number of productive and reproductive pods per plant, and weight of 100 seeds. Increased organic matter content of the soil was observed in both treatment, however, organic matter accumulation was higher in treatments with Gliricida mulch. Gliricidia mulching significantly increased soil pH compared to the control.
