This study was conducted to determine the efficacy of Taktic (Amitraz) against natural sarcoptic mange infection in pigs. The animals were sprayed with Taktic solution at the concentration of 4 ml Taktic per liter water for two to three times depending on the severity of the infection. The efficacy of the drug was evaluated on its ability to kill the parasites, the disappearance of the skin lesion after treatment and the number of treatments required to treat the animals. The results showed that Taktic was safe and effective against Sarcoptes scabie infection in pigs at the concentration of 4 ml Taktic per liter of water. For moderately infected animals, complete treatment was attained after two applications while severely affected required three applications of the drugs.
