Application of cattle slurry, farm manure and commercial fertilizers to the soil increased its mineral content by 27 to 49 percent. NH4-N averaged 59 percent of the total content of mineral N but its proportion varied over the study period. Soil mineral nitrogen varied from month to month and from year to year
