Response of sugar beet varieties to harvest dates

Differentation of the varieties was not significant with regard to the rate of changes in useful characters whereas the varieties significantly differed by the level of their character values. The root yield and sugar content differentiated varieties already before they reached production maturity. In the case of a similar sugar yield in the varieties of productive and sugar type the most suitable for early harvest are the varieties of sugar type
