On preparations of grown Ascaris suum, both investigated lectins exhibited affinity for apical surfaces of epithelial intestinal cells and the content of digestive system in pigs. Lectin obtained from the red-spotted beans stained the nuclei of epithelial and the ovarian cells and eggs located in the uterus. Lectin obtained from wheat germs was bound to the cuticle of the parasite, to the surface of the fibrillar muscle cells and to the inner and outer surface of the uterus. Lectin showed particular affinity for carbohydrate residues of glycosilated molecules.
