Method of diallel crossing was used for studying the breeding value of 5 genotypes of Maryland, Flue-cured and semioriental tobacco types concerning vegetation period, yield, quality index and value. On the basis of the results obtained by Hayman's, Griffing's and Jinks' analyses, abilities of these genotypes for F1, that is, homozygous combinations were estimated.
