Investigation of sensitivity of apple fruits to hail

The investigation deals with sensitivity of fruits to hail of some important apple varieties grown in the Belgrade fruit-growing region (Yugoslavia). According to the number of injuries per one fruit, all varieties are classified into 3 groups: low sensitive (Idared, Starckinson, Jonathan), medium-sensitive (Golden Delicious, Delbard Estival, Akane, Melrose and Cacanska pozna), and highly sensitive (Granny Smith, Blushing Golden, New Jersey 138 249, Mantet). The number of injuries ranges from 3.2 with Idared to 9.8 with Mantet variety.
