Effects of pesticides on organic matter status in soils [of Bangladesh]
1989
Malakar, S.M. | Sattar, M.A.
Dimecron and dichlorvos were applied at the rates of 0,10,100,1000 and 1000 ppm levels to five different soils of Bangladesh at field capacity moisture. The organic matter contents were determined after 0, 5,10,20,30 and 40 days of incubation. The results showed that both the pesticides sharply influence the organic matter status in the soils. The organic matter contents gradually decreased with increasing the incubation time in all five soils. The decrease was linear with increasing the levels of the pesticides. The results differed significantly within the five soils. Data were subjected to a paired-t test and a linear regression. In O-level, the yield was almost stable during the different periods of observation.
