An experiment was conducted during September, 1987 to December 1987 at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ishurdi, Bangladesh adopting a split-split plot design with three replications. The mungbean strain MB 55 was tested against a local check MB-63 (Kishoregonj) under three different row spacings and three seed rates. Observations on different yield contributing parameters e.g. plant population/m2, number of pods/plant, number of seeds/pod, 1000 seed weight and grain yield/plot were recorded. The seed rate 15 kg.ha and row spacing 20 cm were found to be suitable for growing the mungbean strain. The strain MB 55 showed significant yield variation with that of MB 63.
