Fish pathology : Contribution to the study of a parasitic nematode of the Bamendjing dam fishes [Cameroon]
1989
Kamga, K.S.L.
A study on a nematode parasite of fish was carried out at the Bamendjing dam. The objectives were to determine the fish species infested, the rate and intensity of the infestation, to describe and identify the parasite. Clarias lazera and Clarias walkeri were the species mostly infested with about the same intensity. Positive correlation between the infestation intensity and fish length was observed. The incomplete morphology of the whitish or reddish parasite found does not allow for a precise identification. However, available informations help to make possible the hypothesis that the parasite found may be at its larval stage
