A decade of wild soybean (Glycine soja) research in China

Cultivated soybean originated in China. Wild soybean resources of China accounts for 90 per cent of that of the total world. Chinese scientists achieved fruitful results in multidisciplinary researches on wild soybeans during the past decade and prompted forward the research of wild soybean into a new historical period. In this paper, the author comprehensively presented the research results on natural distribution, ecological environment, morphological development, ecological traits, chemicophysiological traits, quality traits, pest resistance, cytogenetic characteristics and utilization in crossbreeding, origin, evolution and taxonomy of wild soybean, and proposed the main tasks in later research work.
