[Pathogenicity of "foot rot disease" in cattle --- Toxicity of crude extract of Fusarium toxins]

Fifty-three strains of Fusarium sp., separated from rice straw fed to cattle in the "Foot Rot Disease" region were extracted with ether. Of the 53 isolates, 30 produced materials caused the skin reactions of rabbits. The corn medium of Fusarium sporotrichioides or Fusarium semitectum and their extracts with ether and methanol-water (95+5) were respectively administered to rats and mice orally or intraperitoneally. All of the rats and 19 of the 20 mice died
