This study was devoted to synthesize the ureaformaldhyde (UF) polymer to which slightly or completely soluble additives; potassium polyphosphates heated at 400 or at 600 C (KPP), magnesium ammonium phosphate (MAP), triple superphosphate (TSP), and potassium sulphate (KS), were incorporated. The release of N, P and K from these products was determined using the activity index (AI) of each element as an indication for its solubility. The data showed that: a) Nitrogen: The total N, CWSN and Al of the ureaform free additives were 38.85, 21.17, and 55.09%, respectively. The average values of the parameters for the KPP-UF polymer were 33.12, 20.11 and 59.86 in the same order, those for MAP-UF, and TSP-UF were 32.75, 17.7 and 59.15, respectively for the former and 33.15, 11.88 and 52.35, respectively for the latter. Such value for K2S04-UF were 34.36, 14.29 and 44.49. b) Phosphorus: Total phosphorus content of the KPP-UF,TSP-UF varied within slight range from 1.53 to 1.92%. Water soluble P was on the average 20,45, 32 and 66.2% of the total P for MAP, TSP and KPP treated at 600 C and KPP treated at 400 C incorporated within UF-polymer respectively. Their activity index values were on the average 22.79, 35.29, 62.54 amd 76.48% in the same order. c) Potassium: Slight variations were observed as regards the total potassium content of the UF-K products. Water soluble K was on the average 24.5, 34.4, and 86.6% of the total K for KPP heated at 600 C, 400 C and K2S04 incorporated in ureaform polymer, respectively. Their activity index values were 48.73, 55.87 and 69.66%.
