The foliar application of 2,4-D and vitamin K separately and combined were studied on Datura plants to know their effect on growth, photosynthetic pigments and carbohydrate. The plant height increased significantly with 20, and 40 ppm 2,4-/; 0.01% and 0.02% vitamin K, and their mixture. The high levels of 2,4-D (80 ppm) and vitamin K (0.04%) caused a reduction in this respect. High level of 2,4-D (80 ppm) decreased leaf area per plant whereas the reverse was true in all other treatments. All treatments caused a significant increase in the dry weight of both leaves and stems. The highest values were observed by spraying plants with 40 ppm 2,4-D, 0.02% vitamin K and 40 ppm 0.020 mixture respectively. The highest values of photosynthetic pigments content were observed at 0.04% vitamin K and 80 ppm 0.04% 2,4-D and vitamin K mixture. All treatments gave an increase in total carbohydrate, sucrose as well as polysaccharides content in leaves except those of 2,4-D causing a clear reduction in this respect.
