The present investigation represents an attempt to study the genetic behaviour of some important agronomic characters in rice (Oriza sativa L). The analysis of variance showed that the diferences between the parents were highly significant for all the characters under study. The genetic components of variation and the wr, vr graphic showed that: a) The tillering and weight of 100 grains are influenced with the additive and dominant effect. b) the culm length, panicle length and number of branches per panicle the non-allelic interaction were important in determining the genetics of these traits, in addition to the dominance and additive effects. c) the degree of dominance was partial in most crosses, while complete and over-dominance were observed in some crosses.
