Germination percentage, dry weight, leaf area and number of main stems of potato plants were improved by increasing the weight of seed pieces up to 27 g. The large pieces 40 g. each, did not show marked effect on all traits compared with the medium weight. Soaking seed pieces in GA3 at 25 ppm increased the dry weight of stems and number of main stems. Cycocel, pyrogallic acid and vitamin C treatments did not cause a significant effect on germination percentage, dry weight of plants, leaf area and number of main stems per plant. The total yield was significantly increased when the weight of seed pieces was raised from 15 to 27 g. GA3 treatments increased the number of tubers, but the total yield was the least. Treating the big seed pieces (40 g) with vitamin C at 500 ppm gave the maximum yield compared to the other treatments.
