Nematodes associated with vegetables, fruits and field crops in Imbo, Burundi, Africa

A total number of (156) soil samples were collected from the rhizosphere of banana, Musa acuminata; cotton, Gossypium hirsutum; common bean; Phaseolus vulgaris, potato, Ipomea batatas maize, Zea mays; coffee, Coffeae arabica, oil palm, Elaeis sinensis and cassava, Manihot utilissima to identify the associated plant parasitic nematodes in Imbo, Burundi, Africa. The results indicate the presence of Helicotylenchus, Hoplolaimus, Meloidogyne, Rotylenchulus, Scutellonema, Pratylenchus, Criconema, Dolichodorus Xiphinema in the identified sampled samples with different frequencies of occurrence and population densities according to the surveyed locality and the cultivated host.
