Promotion of rooting by sterol-inhibiting fungicide - a possible mechanism of action
1987
Asare-Boamah, N.K. (Cape Coast Univ., Cape Coast (Ghana). Dept. of Botany)
The application of triadimefon, a sterol-inhibiting fungicide with plant growth regulating properties, to intact and excised bean seedlings, promoted adventitious root development, increased number, fresh and dry weights of the roots with the hypocotyls responding to a concentration gradient. The fungicide action, similar to that of IAA and polyamines, increased the levels of polyamines in bean hypocotyls and inhibited ethylene evolution at the optimum application level of 0.1 uml-1
