It was established that the studied Rhizobium japonicum strains synthesize the indole, phenole and gibberellin types of growth matter. Thin-layer chromatography on Silicagel-G, according to Stahl, was the method used in the study. Strains in the synthesis of these compounds differed from each other. The greatest number of blots was found in the gibberellin type of growth matter. There were no differences in the number of blots found in the phenol type of matter. There was a correlation between the number of gibberellic blots on one side, and the quantity of fixed nitrogen and plant mass on the other.
