Phenotypic and genetic correlation of some prolificacy traits in Swedish Landrace [swine]

This work determined genetic correlation between the total number of farrowed and liveborn piglets, the correlation of these traits between different and cumulative farrowing, as well as phenotypic correlation between the mentioned traits. The study was performed in productional conditions in the breeding stock of the Swedish Landrace (169 sows and 12 fathers - boars). For all the tested correlations between the total number of farrowed and liveborn piglets, there is a total correlation on both the phenotypic and genotypic levels.
