Effect of irrigation schedule on yield and other important characters of some NS wheat varieties

Average results after three years show that irrigation has a positive effect on wheat crops. Compared to the control, the yield increase ranged from 0,67 to 1,30 t/ha, which was achieved in 1979. The greatest yield was achieved when the soil moisture level was kept at 75-80% FWC. Irrigation has a significant effect on increasing the weight of 1000 grains and on the hectoliter weight. An especially significant effect was achieved with irrigation in the dry year of 1979.
