Plowing under of wheat straw and additional doses of nitrogen had an exceptionally stimulative effect on the total and ammonificational microflora. This effect is particularly apparent towards the end of vegetation, in maize which grows the first year after plowing under. With barley (second year) and wheat (third year), plowing under of harvest residues reduces biogenesis, even if the prolonged effect of the added organic matter and additional N dose is felt, but its effect is reduced. Rainfall also had an effect on the presence of Actinomycetes. Fungi were present in fewer number and a positive effect of the tested factors was not noticed. The effective activity of dehydrogenase was in a positive correlation with the total and ammonificational microflora.
