Behavior of blowfly and honeybee on onion flower

Depending on the temperature and weather condition honeybee and blowfly were generally found active during morning hours of the day and activity lasted till 14.00 hours at the best. The average time spent by blowfly per flower in caged condition was 6.58 + 0.22 and 8.11 + 0.55 sec. during 8.30-11.00 and 11.30-14.00 hours of the day, respectively. Time spent per flower by honeybee in these periods was 5.57 + 0.15 and 5.14 + 0.18 sec., respectively. Accordingly, the total number of flower visited per minute was calculated as 7.40-9.12 for blowfly and 10.77- 11.67 for honeybee.
