Three different sources of crude fibre were tested with Muscovy ducks when used to elevate the crude fibre content of growing rations from 7.0 to 10%. The sources were berseem hay, wheat and rice straws in experimental rations fed from 4 to 12 weeks of age. Growth rate, feed consumption, digestibility coefficients, carcass characteristics and measurements of the alimentary canal were recorded. The results obtained showed that increasing the level of crude fiber up to 10% in the growing diets for Muscovy ducks, are recommended only with females, while rice straw was safe to use with ducks from 8 to 12 weeks of age.
