Effects on mammary growth and tumorogenesity of corn oil and hydrogenated cotton seed oil in mice have been studied. Effects of such fats on the growth and development of the ovaries of mice have also been studied. The present experiment was carried out to determine the effects of corn oil versus menhaden fish oil on the different compartments of the reproductive tract, in the BALB/C mice, i.e. ovaries, oviducts, uterine tubes and uterine body. Mice fed diets containing corn oil showed obvious growth in all parts of the tract particularly ovaries, whereas those fed fish oil containing diet performed almost opposite manifestations both gross and microscopically. These effects were especially more pronounced at 6 weeks of age, in that the corn oil fed groups developed maturing follicles together with some corpora lutea
