[Recurrent selection based on half-sib family evaluation in K06M composite of corn]
1990
Saeidi, Gh. | Rezai, A.
Recurrent selection based on the evaluation of half-sib families was used to increase the yield of composite population (K06M) of corn and to estimate the gain from one cycle of selection. In 1987, 99 half-sib families and the base population were evaluated in two locations by a 10 x 10 simple lattice design. The results have indicated that there were statistically significant differences among families at one percent level of probability. Therefore, on the basis of the 14% selection intensity, the selfed seeds of the best families were selected and recombined. The results revealed that expected yield increase is 8.5% of the original population or 733 kg/ha per year
