Taha, H.K. | Al-Zarari, A.J.
The fungicides: Benlate, Captan 50, Ridomil and Vitavax-Thiram were tested as soil drenching treatments against the damping-off and root rot tobacco disease in Iraq. Vitavax-Thiram at 0.2% a.i. proved to be effective against the fungi Cylindrocarpon heteroneina (Berk. and Br.) Wollenw., Fusarium equiseti (Corda.) Sacc., Fusarium solani (Mart.) Sacc., Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid., Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn and Pythium butleri Subramanian. Benlate also proved to be effective against these fungi with the exception of P. butleri. Ridomil was highly effective against this fungus. A combined treatment of 0.2% Ridomil and Benlate resulted in 100% tobacco seedling stand
