Seasonal development of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Guenee)
1989
Camanag, E.E. | Saxena, R.C.
Seasonal development of rice leaffolder Cnaphalocrocis medinalis was studied in a greenhouse by continuously rearing the wild population for one year. Adult emergence in each generation was recorded and compared with monthly light-trap catches of leaffolder moths on the IRRI [International Rice Research Inst., Los Banos, Laguna Philippines] experimental farm. Peaks of moth emergence on caged, susceptible IR60 plants in each generation coincided with peak monthly catches of leaffolder moths in the three light traps installed at IRRI. Leaffolder were most abundant in September and declined late October. Regardless of the generation, few moths emerged on resistant TKM6 plants.
