Comparison of the efficiency of potato production for fodder with other fodder crops

Economic analysis on the efficiency of potato production for feeding pigs and cattle was carried out. The model calculations have proved that under conditions of yields characteristic for light soils potatoes as a fodder for pigs are significantly superior to cereals with regard to the fodder area productivity. An increase of the competitiveness of potatoes as fodder depends, however, on a relative reduction of costs of utilization of tubers in feeding
