Observations on the percentage of bean seed injuried by the bean beetle (Bruchus rufimanus Boh.), on the plant height, length of the flowering stage and the period from sowing to flowering carried out in 1986-89 by a dozen or so Experimental Station of Cultivar Testing of the Research Centre for Cultivar Testing were statistically analysed. Using Fisher's and Student's tests it was found that the highest per cent of injured seeds is characteristic of the low-growing and earliest-flowering cultivars Dino and Stego and of the low-growing and later-flowering cultivar Tibo
