The methods of copper determination in water and the results of investigations concerning copper content in some water system on the earth are reviewed. The detected amounts of total Cu in water are low and do not exceed 20-30 mcg per cu. dm. The lowest Cu contamination was found in lake water, but in 14 percent of pond waters and in 45 percent of river waters the level of Cu contamination is high and it is in continuous rise
