In experiment on 65 fatteners, divided into 5 groups, complete mixed feeds were administered, where the barley and wheat coarse meal was substituted with 34-54 percent rye or triticale coarse meal (in the control group). One of the groups received 86/93 percent of triticale coarse meal in the mixed feed. Other components were the same and the protein content was constant. The highest growth rate was shown by the fatteners from control group, the others shown rates lower by 38-80 g (P 00.5). Introducing triticale to mixed feed caused considerable decrease of feed utilization in the second period (P 0.01). High content of triticale in mixed feeds caused an increase in serum phosphorus and slightly higher carcasse overfat. There were no significant differences in the results of other tests performed on blood serum and loin muscles in different groups
