Influence of some organic medium compounds on the branching of gerbera shoots in vitro
1988
Soczek, U. | Hempel, M. (Research Institute of Pomology and Floriculture, Skierniewice (Poland). Floriculture and Ornamental Plants Research Div.)
The omission or decrease in the concentration of some organic compounds of the media used for gerbera micropropagation could reduce laboratory costs. Shoots of three gerbera cultivars, Clementine, Saskia and Terravisa, were multiplied on media without or with the addition of thiamine, pyridoxine, nicotinic acid, meso-inositol, tyrosine and adenine sulfate at original strenghts or in concentrations reduced to 1/2 or 1/4. In three subsequent passages, the multiplication rate of gerbera shoots did not depend on the concentration of the studied compounds, except in the case of nicotinic acid and cv. Saskia
