The study of corn-cob cropping capacity of medium early hybrids depending on phenological stages of development in agroecological conditions of Vojvodina [Yugoslavia]
1989
Obradovic, M. (Poljoprivredni fakultet, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
The effect of agroecological factors in the conditions of Vojvodina (Yugoslavia) upon dynamics of some phenological stages of panicle and maize cob and on the grain yield of different maize hybrids was investigated. The investigation included 4 hybrids belonging to the same maturity group. It was carried out in 1982 and 1983. The highest yield was obtained in 1982 which confirmed that it was more favourable for maize production than 1983. Heat conditions were generally favourable for the production of these maize hybrids. There were great differences between maximum and minimum air temperatures. During vegetation the distribution of rainfall varied monthly and annually. Significan influence of ecological conditions on the plant height was observed in different regions. Yields varied depending on the year and on the agrometeorological conditions. The most productive hybrid was BCSC 588 and then BCTC 571.
