The results of a three-year study on the effect of the sowing rate and differential nitrogen fertilization of Dactylis glomerata, Phleum pratense and Festuca arundinacea show the following: The seed rate in the sowing of the studied grasses did not have a significant effect on the number of fertile tillers and the length of the reproductive organs. The yields of perennial grass seeds reacted differently to the sowing rate. Significant differences between different seed rates were not recorded in the hay yield of any of the varieties. Differential nitrogen fertilization did have a significant effect on the length of the reproductive organs. The influence of nitrogen on the seed yield was also limited. Differential fertilization had a special effect on the hay yields.
