Some aspects of population dynamics of the Japanese threadfin bream (Niemipteros japonicus) of the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh

Length-frequency-based computer programs, ELEFAN I and II, were used to estimate the population parameters of the Japanese Threadfin Bream (Niemipteros japonicus). The growth parameters loo and k of the Von bertalanffy growth equation have been estimated at 26.5 cm and 0.60 per year respectively. Z.M. and F which express the total, natural and fishing mortalities were found to be 4.71, 1.32 and 3.39 respectively, restructured length-frequencies with superimposed growth curve, catch curve and selection pattern are presented here.
