A study on the utilization of Gliricidia sepium and corn waste for sheep ration has been conducted in Gunasari Village in upper Citanduy watershed. Three kind of diets had been fed as treatments, that are: mixtures of Brachiaria sp., 35:65 (diet B), and corn waste, 100 percent (diet C). The diets were randomly allocated to 18 Garut sheep based on randomized block design. Production parameters had been observed for 10 weeks. Experimental results indicated that average (ADG) was 53,28 g for both diets B and C, while diet A gave only 47,80 g ADG). Dry matter consumption for diets A, B and C was 683, 717 and 783 g, respectively. These figures gave feed efficiency value of 14,29 for diet A, 13,45 for diet B, and 14,69 for diet C. All parameters measured indicating no significant differences among treatments (p more than 0.05). However, diet A had better efficiency compared with the two other diets, although the differences in ADG for all diets were not significant. (Author)
