Forty-eight broiler chicks were randomly distributed into three treatments. The birds were fed with rations aimed at evaluation of yellow corn and quality protein maize (QPM) as ingredients. Results revealed that broilers fed with rations that contained 60% yellow corn and 60% QPM did not vary significantly in terms of weight gain, feed intake, feed cost to produce a kg of body weight, return above feed cost, net profit per bird, and return on investment. These results were significantly higher compared to broilers fed with commercial chick starter mash. The suitability of yellow corn and QPM as ingredients in alternative feeds for the latter may be recommended
