Ecological characterization of forms of present fertility condition of forest sites in the aspect of regrading a melioration of degraded sites

The paper contains typological characterization of fresh forest sites on lowlands in Poland, including degraded forms of sites. This characterization involves typological elements of soil, stand and ground cover plants of mentioned forest site types, differentiated into sites being at present in condition almost natural or slightly changed, deformed sites, degraded sites. The forms of present site condition differ within given site type with regard to easily changing elements of soils, plant communities of ground cover and stand productivity, whereas the durable soil elements remain without important changes. The economic forest degradation is considered to be a reversible phenomennon. One should accelerate by suitable regarding meliorations the process of selfregulation of the ecosystem
