Effect of thermal and humidity conditions on the development and yielding of pea Kaliski cultivar

The duration of the growing period ranged from 102 to 132 days depending, first of all, on the amount of rainfall; it was prolonged at higher rainfall and shortened at drought. Several developmental periods of green pea depended on different elements of weather. The time from sowing to emergence and from emergence to the beginning of flowering would get shorter under the influence of higher air temperatures, while the duration of flowering and the time from the end of flowering to yellow ripeness was correlated positively with the amount of rainfall. Along with increasing amount of rainfall in the time from emergence to yellow ripeness the yield of seeds would increase, while rainfall in the time from sowing to the end of flowering exerted a positive influence on the height of plants and the yield of straw. The content of total protein in pea seeds was negatively correlated with the amount of rainfall in the time from the end of flowering to yellow ripeness, and its content in straw appeared to be the resultant of the action of air temperature and rainfall in the time from sowing to the end of flowering
