Barley rotation trials at Tel Hadya and Breda stations. A summary of biological yield data, 1981-87
1989
Jones, M. (ICARDA, Aleppo (Syria))
Trials were conducted on a barley-forage legume cycle with vetch, peas or lathyrus as the legume at Tel Hadya and Breda stations in northern Syria from 1980 to 1987 to study the effects of different fertilizer regimes using 0-20 kg N and 0-60 kg P2O5/ha and different 2-years rotations on yields of barley and legumes and productivity of rotations. Yields decreased in the order barley/fallow, barley/Vicia, barley/barley, independent of fertilizer applications. Barley/barley rotation gave high yields where Phosphate fertilizers were applied and nitrogen was available
