Scientists need information on pests that are already existing. Networks like the Pest Management Network (PESTNET) should emphasize coordinated data handling through the Pest Management Documentation and Information System and Service (PMDISS). Therefore, scientists expect; a joint newsletter with National Agricultural Documentation and Information Centre which is educational and informative on pests and diseases which do not occur in Uganda but are important elsewhere, it should give information about pest outbreaks and control, management strategies and research work done on related biological problems as well as provide information on chemicals banned in other countries. Scientists need to have access to information on pests e.g. through publications and on floppy diskettes.
