To prevent weeds in maize, a high number of preparations (herbicides) is used. Though carefully selected, they have a certain depressing effect on wheat which, in dependence of the date of application and wheat genotype brings the yield decrease. On the experimental locality, where the weed density was very poor, the tolerance of some wheat genotypes to four most frequently applied herbicides was studied at two terms of application (stage of tillering and shooting). The obtained results indicate the tolerance of the studied genotypes to herbicides was observed at the early stage (tillering), while the application at the stage of tillering tended to decrease the yield.
