Gamma-Imunobel-S is a single immunoglobulin preparation in the country. It contains swine blood serum immunoglobulins (50 mg/g) and is formulated as oral suspension. It is intended for the prevention of a weakened resistance of the hypogammaglobulinaemic piglets in the perinatal and early postnatal age to diseases, especially to those affecting gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. The comparative investigation of serum globulin status was conducted in piglets immediately before suckling colostrum, after colostrum intake, and on the days 1, 7, 14 and 21 after the application of the immunoglobulin preparation. In addition, effects of the preparation of the differential blood count, weight yield, the appearance of a disease and death rate were also investigated. Based on the results of the comparative investigation of treated and the control piglets, effects of the applied immunoglobulin preparation proved promising in terms of both epizootiology and the economy.
