The investigation proved the following: ecologic conditions in the Skopje vineyard area in Macedonia (Yugoslavia) are favourable for growing varieties, Rkaciteli, Semijon and Zupljanka. The content of alcohol in 3 wine sorts is satisfactory while the content of total acids is not. The content of volatile acids with 3 wine sorts is within the acceptable limits. pH value points to the fact that the wines are of insufficient acidity. The investigated wines have full-bodied aroma and are rich in extractive substances. Wines made from varieties Rkaciteli and Semijon contain a slightly increased quantity of tannin while the wine made from the Zupljanka variety contains normal quantity of tannin. With the investigated wines the ash content is satisfactory. With regard to the degustation evaluation the investigated wines are considered to be high-quality wines with geographic origin. Out of the investigated vine varieties, high-quality white wines can be produced.
