Modifications in the soil structure by different kinds of use
1990
Ellies S, Achim | Hartge, H. (Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia (Chile))
In two Dystrandepts situated in Loncoche and Mariquina in southern Chile, with different kinds of use, it was determinated vertical and horizontal resistance of soil layers with a cone and a flat penetrometer, and a shear vane. In both sites measurement was carried out under native forest, meadow, and in addition in Loncoche a site with a second rotation of Pinus radiata forest. The horizontal penetrometric resistance increases more than the vertical and with soil use, this indicates changes in aggregation and a increase of shear strength. The horizontal shear vane resistance in native forest is bigger than the vertical, the structure in this sites is less degraded and homogenized than used soils
