The effect of nutrition on crude protein production and concentration in temporary grassland

Nitrogenous compounds and their fractions were evaluated in sown grassland (simple mixtures of Dactylis glomerata and Lolium perenne with Trifolium repens and of a complex mixture with Trifolium pratense) at 3 levels of N fertilization and 2 levels of P and K fertilization. The highest production of crude protein was recorded in the simple mixture with Dactylis glomerata and the highest concentration in the mixture with Lolium perenne. Increased N rates increase the output of N compounds in all types of grassland, but their concentrations increase significantly at the highest N rates. Increased P and K rates without N influenced the yield and concentration of crude protein only in simple mixture stands with Dactylis glomerata. The highest non-protein N was observed in the mixture with Lolium perenne, and the lowest concentration of nitrate N was also recorded in this mixture. Even at the highest rate of 360 kg N per ha, the concentration of NO3-N remains far from the toxicity level. The concentration of amino acids is the highest in grassland with the complex mixture with Trifolium pratense. Increase in N rates results in increase in amino acid concentration, including the essential ones.
