Chemical composition of solid particles in the vegetative surface in the Slovak forests

The distribution of particles on the surface of vegetation in Slovakia was studied. Different particles on 112 permanent monitoring plots (16x16 km2) and five areas near main pollution sources (aluminium works, lime plant, magnesite works, iron-ore mines and smelters, and power plant) were studied. By supplementary EDX spectral analysis and microscopy six additional groups of particles were found: mineral botanical matter, coal-fly ash, oil-fly ash, coal-oil-fly ash, and particles of industrial substances.
